Short Story 4

Hey guys! I'm going to post the next part but it's not as long. Sorry! I'll try to post more as soon as possible! Here we go!

The rest of the school day was normal. Like every other first day of school I’ve experienced. Boring. At lunch, I met Eric, Sadie, and Annabelle at a far table, in the back. They all looked like statues. Pale, not moving and staring in one spot. Sometimes, I had to remind them that we were around humans. Vampires never need to move. We don’t even need to breathe. We can be completely still forever and it won’t affect us at all. Unlike humans, who had to move constantly. I remember being human it was physically impossible for me to stand still and take a picture. Now that I have to keep moving or people will be suspicious of us. No human could stay still as long as a vampire could.
“Guys. No one here knows we’re vampires,” I whisper just loud enough for them to hear. “At least pretend to blink or something. And make it look like your eating.” That’s another thing about being a vampire. We don’t need to eat or sleep. We do drink, drink blood. We don’t have to sleep, so at night, we go hunting, for animals. NOT humans. Some vampires are bad and drink human blood. None of us have but Alex. Well, sometimes Eric.  Alex drank the blood out of Annabelle’s sister - Anna. It wasn’t really Alex’s fault, I think it’s more of Annabelle’s. But Alex, always seems to blame himself.
It all happened about a week after Alex had turned into a vampire, it was very hard to control yourself, from drinking anyone’s blood. You are usually kept in a house and do not see anyone with blood in them or you can attack and drain them of their blood. You are kept like this for as long as it takes, until you can learn to control yourself. It usually takes 6 months or more. For me, it only took me 3 months. This is only because I couldn’t drain someone of their blood. I just couldn’t. I could read their minds. When I read their minds, I feel all the pain of my prey was feeling, when I drain them. That is why I hate hunting. Eric hates it too. We feel all their pain which our prey was feeling. It is the worst feeling. We only hunt a little - at least not as much as the others.
Well, when Alex was only a week old of being a vampire, Annabelle accidentally brought her human sister to Alex. She claims it was an accident. She totally forgot about Alex. Anna didn’t know anything about vampires. She never knew about Annabelle being one herself. As soon as she entered the house, Alex smelt human blood fill the air. He jumped up to Anna. Anna was shocked. Alex bit her throat as she screamed. Alex couldn’t control himself, he didn’t know what he was doing. Eric, Annabelle, Mom and dad, all looked in shock as Annabelle’s sister was drained of her blood. Her skin turned paler and paler as Alex sucked and sucked her blood.
“Alex! Alex! STOP!” Annabelle had screamed.
It was too late, Anna was already dead, as she fell to the ground, lifeless. Annabelle didn’t know what to do. How would she explain this to her parents? Annabelle than decided to come clean and tell her parents. Tell them about vampires. Tell them about her being one. Of course, this was a long time ago, so , now, her human parents are dead. Annabelle now lives at Sadie’s house or at mine. She’s never really had anyone who loved her or even cared of her. She lost her parents and her only sister. No wonder why she seemed so upset when mike dumped her.
Now Annabelle and Alex are okay with what he had done, but you can’t say everything was so smooth between them. Annabelle still hasn’t fully forgiven him for what he had done and Alex, still hadn’t fully forgiven Annabelle for bringing her sister in the first place.
Now I see three vampires in front of me who couldn’t make it more obvious that they weren’t human.
“Come on guys!” I say as I smack Eric lightly on his back.
“Oh… sorry,” he said. “I was just thinking about Calculus. I have that class next.” Eric was smart, but not the nerdy kind of smart.
Annabelle and Sadie finally snapped out of their statue position.
“Oh, hey Rosy!” Annabelle was the only person who called me that, Rosy. “How’s school so far?”
“Great.” I lied. I was remembering my day so far. I remembered Physics class. Chemistry. Spencer. Then I had an idea. How could have not thought of this before?
“Eric…” Eric looked up at me. I could tell that his mind wasn’t with me because I was reading it.
“Eric, listen to me!”
“What?!”
“Can I ask you a favor?”
“What is it?”
“Can you read someone’s mind for me?”
“Do it yourself. I thought you could read minds.”
“What?” Annabelle and Sadie said at the same time. “You can read minds?”
“Yeah”
“Since when? Why didn’t you tell us”
“Since I became a vampire. I didn’t want to tell you us.”
“Then why hasn’t Eric told us yet?”
“Eric only discovered it a week ago. I think.” I said. “Anyways, that’s not what I wanted to say. I wanted to ask Eric if he could read Spence’s mind for me. His mind won’t let me. I want to see if you could do it for me.”
“What? That’s ridiculous!”
“Come on, I can’t stand being around someone whose mind I can’t read. It’s bad enough with Annabelle, I don’t need someone else’s who’s mind I can’t read.”
“What? Why can’t you read my mind?” Annabelle asked me.”

What'd you think of it so? Please comment and i really want to know what you all think of it!
